Carol’s Precious Playschool

Program Information

Many moments throughout the day are learning experiences. Whether I am teaching a new sound while changing a diaper, singing a song during lunch, encouraging movement on the floor, reading a book, teaching limited sign language, or simply just talking to your child while in my arms, your child will be stimulated and encouraged to learn new things.

I do not have a strict, rigid schedule for the children. However, we do become very routined in our day. I feel it is important to be consistent with feeding and napping times as they become a little older. Routines keep their days more predictable, as well as your evenings. I am always very flexible as the children’s needs always come first.

Each child has their own separate Pack-n-Play or sleeping cot, when age appropriate. Infants are usually in an individual room since most children wake up at separate times and cots are placed together in our main area.

I am a participant of the Child and Adult Care Food Program with Child Care Resource and Referral. Your child is guaranteed healthy, nutritious meals. Enrollee participants will have their formula and infant food provided. I have three highchairs and a Little Tikes picnic table just their size as they transition to a table.

We do not smoke and there is absolutely no smoking allowed in our home.

I also complete an Infant Report Card daily for your child up to age one. I feel it is very important to let you know how your child’s day went, what they ate, what their temperament was, and let you know any cute things they may have done during the day. Once your child reaches age one, I will give you a verbal report card. At that age their daily schedule is very consistent.

Our Typical Day

A healthy breakfast is served including a variety of items including whole grain foods and plenty of fruits and vegetables.  We then have free play time which is where I give special attention to the younger children who do not participate in the preschool curriculum.  A healthy morning snack is served and we are on to the Mother Goose Time preschool program which is taught during the school year.  We will go outside before lunch if time allows.  It is then on to nap time.  When everyone is awake we will have a healthy afternoon snack.  We then go outside and play until the parents arrive, weather dependent.

Our Indoor Learning Experience

Be sure to take a look at my photo gallery to see all of the wonderful things that your child can learn from and explore with.  I take pride in offering quality items for each growing stage.

Our home and surroundings are very safe for your child. You will mostly find us downstairs in our separate play area set up just for kids. I have indoor play equipment for both small and large motor skills. Inside you can find a variety of books, infant, toddler, and preschool toys, a Peek-a-Boo Tunnel, a climber with stairs and a slide, an exersaucer, an infant swing, a Play Hut tent with tunnel, a drum set, a play kitchen with food, a shopping cart, and more.

Our Backyard Experience

From our downstairs, we can go directly outside our walk-out into our back yard. My back yard is set up for large motor skill activities. Children love climbers and there is plenty of room to run!  In the fall of 2007, we will have a new city park right behind our back yard.

I have a large sandbox for building castles, digging holes, or simply using your own imagination. The possibilities are endless.  We have everything we need right in our own back yard.

I have plenty of bird feeders for the children to discover this beautiful part of nature. We may watch the colorful flowers grow or just crawl around on the soft grass. You may also find us going on walks. I have a double stroller for the infants while the toddlers and preschoolers walk with me.
